Benjamin Benmoyal is the founder and artistic director of his eponymous brand born in 2020.
During his studies he distinguished himself by his focus on the development of sustainable fabrics, which he first weaved by hand from recycled cassettes and hand-dyed yarns. These include VHS tapes of his childhood favourites to “weave the naivety of my youth” said to have been lost during his years of service as a paratrooper. He collaborates with Malhia Kent, to create 20 new sustainable fabrics for his final collection presented in September 2017 at LVMH’s “FUTURE LIFE” event in Paris.
A graduate of Central Saint Martins (where he won the LVMH Grand Prix scholarship), Benjamin has worked at Alexander McQueen and Hermès.
His style is rooted in his Moroccan origins, favouring the volumes and draperies of traditional garments as well as the bright colours borrowed from the Berber aesthetic. Since the season (AW21), Benjamin Benmoyal has joined the official calendar of Paris Fashion Week.
